Mo's Steakhouse
About This Spot
Mo’s Steakhouse in Vevay welcomes you with the quiet confidence of a well-loved neighborhood bar & grill where the pace slows just enough to savor a simple, satisfying meal. The unassuming exterior and calm parking lot might give pause at first, but stepping inside reveals a warm, genuine atmosphere where hearty portions and familiar flavors draw locals and visitors alike into easy conversation and shared moments.
Here, the rhythm is unpretentious and steady—the kind of place where servers know your name and the owner is just as likely to be found lending a hand in the kitchen or checking in on tables as sitting back. The space feels inviting without pretense, holding the comfortable hum of friendly chatter and clinking glasses.
The food at Mo’s mirrors this spirit, offering a menu that blends classic bar & grill staples with a few distinctive touches. From crispy fried pickles that crackle with just the right saltiness to generous steak tips nestled in a savory mushroom-and-onion embrace, each plate feels crafted to satisfy without fuss. Whether you’re digging into the bold flavors of Texas Fire Crackers or enjoying a rich, comforting bowl of baked potato soup, the experience is one of honest, earnest indulgence.
Mo’s also understands the pleasure of familiar staples done well—imagine a mushroom Swiss burger so hearty it becomes the highlight of your day, or a Caesar salad bright enough to leave a clean, fresh note on the palate after a meat-forward meal. The menu spans from sea to land with oysters and fried catfish strips adding a coastal whisper to their Midwestern charm.
At its heart, Mo’s feels like a gathering place—a spot where the friendly, attentive service makes you feel welcome and the generous portions invite you to linger a little longer. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a space for savoring those unassuming moments that make eating out genuinely memorable.

We've never been here before we was very skeptical when we pulled up, because the parking lot is very empty for a Saturday night. We decided to come inside anyway to give it a try because we read all the reviews well most of them anyway and I'm glad we did because I'm very impressed portions were very good the people here are awesome and polite, I definitely give it a 10 out of 10 and definitely recommend to come here when you are in town.

Great food, huge portions, incredible ranch dressing, great service. Tara was a wonderful server with a great personality. The owner was there also, he was out helping the kitchen, the server etc...not sitting watching, actually out there with the rest working. The price was very reasonable and the place was clean. Will stop again next time I'm in the area.

Salmon, FANTASTIC!! Tara, FANTASTIC!! The fried Catfish was ok. My sister and I came to Vevay (me from GA, my sister from VA)for family, and stopped in for Dinner. We didn’t feel like driving around (not being from the area) looking for a place to eat. Glad we stopped.

We were told to come here from 1 1/2 hours north of Vevay. When we pulled in we were VERY skeptical as there was very few cars on a Friday night. We decided to be adventurous and try it. Let me just say we were NOT disappointed! We got the prime rib and the 12oz steak and shrimp. The steak was very well seasoned as well as the shrimp. The star of the evening was the prime rib! Sooooo juicy, tender and delicious. Mo even came out from the kitchen and greeted us all. It was truly a very good experience!

This unassuming place punches above its weight. The 12 oz prime rib special very good; I'm from Wisco where this is a supperclub staple. You get two sides. I ordered the cabbage which was an unusual but satisfying offering. Waitress misunderstood my inquiry about green beans being fresh, they were canned. When she came back to check on me, we subbed it out for a salad. Fresh mushroom and onion add on worth it. The house wine not very good. Opt for a beer or cocktail. Owner came to check on how I enjoyed my meal which is always appreciated.
